Initially, I was going to keep on looking through guide and pass it by, but I just had to get a glimpse of Jeannie struttin' around in her skimpy genie outfit; so, I turned it on. To my disappointment, Jeannie wasn't in her genie garb, but she was in one of her tight little skirts. Good enough. I could wait. I didn't have anything else to do. So, I continued to watch. This particular episode was about Cousin Tony's Texas Chili
![]() ![]() I watched the entire episode; so, I was able to get more than just a glimpse of Jeannie in her lovely little genie outfit. Jeannie was just as I remember her. The last time I watched I Dream of Jeannie was way back in the 1980's when I was a teenager. I think that it's obvious why I watched the show back then, but, just in case you still have no clue, duh!!! - I was a teenage boy. Why wouldn't a teenage boy want to watch a hot chick strut around in a skimpy genie outfit? Well, the same basic logic applies now. Why wouldn't an adult heterosexual male want to watch a sexy girl in a skimpy genie outfit?
I Dream of Jeannie isn't the best television show of all time and Jeannie, played by Barbara Eden, isn't the hottest woman of all time. But, the show is a cult classic and so is Jeannie and her genie outfit. With that being said, I doubt that I'll ever sit through another episode of I Dream of Genie again. It was a novel experience when I watched the show the other day, but the only reason I opted to watch the show was to see Jeannie in her genie outfit. Plus, I was bored and there was nothing else on at the time, anyway. I was surprised to learn that folks in Hollywood have been planning an I Dream of Jeannie movie. Initially I thought, "Really? A movie? They can't be serious." Well, they're totally serious. After all, Hollywood has been making movies based on old T.V. shows for years - some successful and others not so successful. A few recent movies based on old television shows include the following... The Brady Bunch movies were very successful. The cast was absolutely perfect resulting in an awesomely funny parody of the television show from the 60's and 70's. I've watched these movies numerous times and will probably watch them again in the near future. This proves that, if done right, movies based on old television shows can do well. ![]() Plus, Christine Taylor delivered a very pretty Marcia Brady - much prettier than the original Marcia from the television show - but still true to the Marcia Brady look. No wonder Greg lusted after Marcia in the movie. ![]()
The Scooby Doo movies did well and stayed true to the cartoon. The cast was pretty convincing too.I thought the movies were farily entertaining and I would watch them again - that is, if my mood is right. ![]() Sarah Gellar is a very cute Daphne...
The Dukes of Hazzard movie I'm not sure how well this did at the box office. I watched parts of the movie on cable, but I never watched the entire movie. IMHO, it just isn't a very good movie. But, watching Jessica Simpson play Daisy Duke is definitely worthwhile, indeed. If you don't believe me, take a look at these photos of Jessica as Daisy Duke... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Case closed! So, yes. The Dukes of Hazzard movie is worth watching, but only to see Jessica Simpson in those tight shorts and other revealing clothing. Anyway, a few other movies based on old T.V. shows include Starsky and Hutch which I liked and Charlie's Angels which I could care less about. I didn't care for the television show and I don't care about a Charlie's Angels movie, but I know other folks liked it. And, of course, there's the Bewitched movie which I've never seen and have no interest to. It flopped horribly at the theaters. I could go on and on listing movies based on old television shows, but I think the point is clear. An I Dream of Jeannie movie is a very realistic possibility and I wouldn't be surprised to see one out within the next 5 years or so. If and when a I Dream of Jeannie movie is to be created, it should be a parody of the original T.V. show in the same style of the Brady Bunch movies. Right off the bat, I think that Jim Carrey would be perfect for the Larry Hagman role of Major Nelson, Jeannie's master. He alone could bring all of the comedy necessary for a hit. So, the Jeannie role is a little easier to cast because all that is required is a hot blonde actress with the necessary assets to fill the genie costume - that leaves us with a pretty big list of potential candidates. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I've read that Lindsay Lohan has been in talks with Sony about the Jeannie role and is a real possibility to play Jeannie on the big screen. She's definitely not a bad choice... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() There's no doubt that Lindsay has the assets to fill the genie costume. And, she's got acting experience to bring to the film. Unfortunately, her current personal and legal problems would need to be addressed and solved before anyone in their right mind would attempt to sign her. Then again, what do I know. The fact remains that whomever plays Jeannie must be a hot blonde actress. In my opinion, that's like finding a needle in a pile of needles - way too many options. For instance... Elisha Cuthbert ![]() ![]() Katherine Heigl ![]() ![]() Scarlett Johansson ![]() ![]() The list of hot young Hollywood blonde actresses can go on and on and on and on. So, I'm not even going to try to single one actress out for the Jeannie role - there's way too many options. ![]() ![]() ![]() On the television show, Jeannie had an evil sister that occasionally appeared - usually in a green genie outfit. Her name was also Jeannie. Barbara Eden played both Jeannie and Jeannie's evil sister on the show, but for the movie, I think the roles of Jeannie and Jeannie's sister should be played by different actresses. I can think of two very bodacious ladies that I would love to see stuff themselves into little green genie outfits to play Jeannie's evil sister in the movie...Salma Hayek ![]() ![]() ![]() Kim Kardashian ![]() ![]() Wow! Kim already comes with a genie outfit too. Bonus. So that settles it. Kim can be Jeannie's evil sister. I think Kim could, at least, pull that off. She "acts" on a television reality show, right? Well, just in case, I'll keep Salma on standby - though Salma would definitely be insulted. So, maybe I should just go with Salma. Forget it. I'll let the Hollywood professionals figure this movie out.
